In February 2022, China's import volume of ABS resin was 95,800 tons, with an average import price of 2000.91 USD/ton. The ABS market in February was affected by both the Spring Festival holiday and supply-demand conflicts, leading to a weak market sentiment and a generally quiet trading atmosphere. 1. 2022 Year 2 Month ABS Year-on-year import volume / Month-on-month
As shown in the above chart, the import volume in February 2022 decreased by 9,900 tons year-on-year compared to February 2021, a decline of 9.37%. Compared to January 2022, the import volume decreased by 31,200 tons month-on-month, a decline of 24.57%.
2. Analysis of ABS import data by province and country of origin in February 2022
From the import data by province, it can be seen that the South China and East China regions maintained their positions as the top two in import volume, accounting for nearly 90% of total imports in February. Guangdong Province imported 40,300 tons, about 42.07%; Jiangsu Province imported 9,500 tons, about 9.95%; Zhejiang Province imported 20,500 tons, about 21.36%; Shanghai imported 9,000 tons, about 9.44%; Fujian Province imported 6,500 tons, about 6.79%.
From the statistics by country of origin, imports from Taiwan and South Korea accounted for nearly 70% in February, about 68%. Among them, imports from Taiwan were 33,400 tons, about 34.89%; from South Korea 31,600 tons, about 33.02%; from Malaysia 11,400 tons, about 11.86%.
