In February 2022, China imported 62,100 tons of PS raw materials, with an average import price of 1,271.21 USD/ton. In February, the domestic PS market was affected by both the Spring Festival holiday and supply-demand conflicts, leading to a weak market sentiment and sluggish overall trading pace. 1. Year-on-year and month-on-month PS import volume in February 2022
From the import data by province, it can be seen that the East China and South China regions are the largest PS import clearance areas nationwide, accounting for nearly 90% of total imports in February. Guangdong Province imported 28,300 tons, about 45.59%; Shanghai imported 11,500 tons, about 18.60%; Zhejiang Province imported 7,700 tons, about 12.44%; Jiangsu Province imported 3,800 tons, about 6.14%; Shandong Province imported 4,300 tons, about 6.92%.
From the statistics of producing and selling countries, the top three import sources in February remained unchanged: Taiwan, Malaysia, and Hong Kong, accounting for over 60% of total imports. Imports from Taiwan were 9,200 tons, about 14.95%; from Hong Kong 12,300 tons, about 19.76%; from Malaysia 16,300 tons, about 26.34%.
